reorganization and change management

In 2015, Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) began the massive undertaking of combining ~200 programs and more than 13,000 employees into one division. I led the communications efforts for this transition, overseeing a workgroup comprised of leaders from individual programs to develop an effective communication strategy based on the concepts of change management. The goal was to keep employees both informed and encouraged as all employees transitioned to a brand new division and report progress to the executive team. We first evaluated who needed to receive communication and how they best received it. In addition, we hosted quarterly senior staff networking meetings that included updates from the executive team members and sent out regular updates to all employees from the incoming Deputy Executive Commissioner, which I ghostwrote.
